yay! Honey! :)
so sweet isn't she? ^^
she was once a stray. one that was chased by workers or kicked when looking for food at the coffee shop. her life wasn't good. i believe.
Lovely Honey, friendly Honey, very sweet and gentle, but very timid is still wandering out there, too afraid to show herself except very late at night. Thank God for all this while even during the disappearance of Blackie and Shadow, our feeders are still leaving food out in the field. We have long suspected there are dogs who still come to feed late at night but we could never be sure as we never see them although food disappears and containers toppled over. Seeing Honey, aka Judy, alive after all these months gladden our hearts that we did not desert her and even though she had no one to turn to, with her brother gone, she still had the food we leave for the night dogs to keep her alive.
When we saw Honey the other day, our first thought was to immediately rescue her as she is so small and so adoptable as she is of HDB size, our heart tugged at the sight of this tiny dog all alone in the wilderness, but something made us stop in our tracks. A sharp eyed friend saw her swollen teats and some droplets of milk on them. Oh no, Honey we suspect, has most probably recently given birth.... we cannot rescue her, her pups will die if she does not return to them. But where are they?
we have found her pups, and they are being fostered in another house. growing and learning well, waiting to be adopted. http://homelessinseletar.blogspot.com/
Contact us at stevenandchristinetan@yahoo.com.sg or call 9693 2724 if you wish to view the puppies for adoption, Regretfully, they are not suitable for HDB residences
her pups are save and well. that day, the fosterers, S and C brought 2 of them to visit. :) but they didn't do much. they just smelled each other, not what we had expected.
Honey is adjust well. eating, barking -.-, playing with Prince and my other fostered, Ahboy. she is really very clever, she is the VERY first to climb up to the double deck bed, the top level. :) my sis got a shock when one day she woke up seeing Honey looking down at her from the top. haha.
she is quite a good jumper too.. the way she jumps make me feel so. ^^ she is VERY pretty. with a fox(y) shape. :) she looks like a fox in another way. really cool and beautiful.

coffee:it hurts to think of you..

as i have said in the other post(s), Honey is staying with me now. she is such a darling, gentle and sweet.
this picture is when sis tried putting our hamster, lemon on her to see her reaction but she didn't really have any reaction! this shows that she is able to go well with our animals. ^^ but she did realise later that something is on her, walking around.
how cute isn't it? :)
she has been a really good girl, just that she seems to prefer going out because she would try to go out. have not really succeed. haha.
well, she deserves so much love. if you are interested in her, please mail anaterry@singnet.com.sg or call 9115-3067 for viewing. *not HDB approved..

the white one is maomao, a girl. the black with white head, is wangwang. maomao is a very brave girl. running all around, not wanting you to carry her. and when she is out, OFF she goes. byebye~ she is cute. but she can be annoying too, because she doesn't let us carry her. haha.
wangwang on the other hand is very quite and tame. just like coffee is. he follows maomao. they are so lovely. i use to bring them to the park to eat grass and enjoy and people would can and pat them. it's always nice, to make friends and letting them run and have fun and eat. i wouldn't forget that too. but because we were lazy and didn't clean their cages and my dad wasn't happy about it, he sold them away... :"( i cried, i was so angry, i was angry that dad sold them without letting me know. i was so sad i couldn't say my last good bye or something.
so i got my darling coffee. i use to go to SPCA very often. so one fine day, i saw Coffee and hurriedly called mum and we got him. Uncle Jerry, one of the staff there ( now no longer ), helped with the adoption. he gave us a free cage too. my mum's friend went to help us bring the Big cage home. i was so happy. all the joy building up, HIGH up. a huge smile on my face.
i set his cage up, lay the news paper and all sorts. fed him, played with him, talk to him, carried him. he is not those that is very tamed, he seems to prefer being on himself. but i didn't let him. ^^ i brought him out, to petmovers, parks, school, visits and MANY more. one of the 'outing', we went to petmovers and someone was asking owners some question and she saw Coffee and came to ask what is he and i told her he is a guinea pig. she looked so ... surprised? and she was also giving some things to the owners. but because coffee is a guinea pig she couldn't give me anything. that was such a nice memory.
every time we open our fridge, coffee would squeak for food, vegetables. i miss the sound... i miss having him around. sis do too although she doesn't really play with coffee. coffee means so much to me. all this was before i got Prince, helped with the fostering and all sorts.
soon, we got Prince. and i didn't send as much time as i did... i send 80% of my time with Prince than to coffee. then even more dogs came into my life, looking after them is so nice. sometimes i even forgets coffee. and sometimes when coffee squeak, i ignore. but i still did play with him.
but when even more came, the lesser i played. and these few days... i didn't really take him out to play. but i did realise he was getting thinner and his water didn't seem to have lessen.. and his food seems to slow down. ( lesser was gone ). he didn't squeak too.. but i didn't really notice. if only i had took him out, check on him everyday, knew he isn't well, took him to the vet earlier, he wouldn't have gone..
THANKS darling coffee:
thanks for being such a nice guinea pig
thanks for being my little ' dog ' when i didn't have any
thanks for the joys you brought
thanks for the EVERYTHING
SORRY dear:
sorry that i didn't play with you so often
sorry that i didn't check on you EVERYDAY
sorry that i didn't bring you to the vet earlier
sorry that i didn't take good care of you
sorry that i didn't care about you sometimes
sorry that i didn't notice how sick you were
sorry that i ignored you sometimes
sorry for EVERYTHING i did that made you sad or was bad.
SORRY to those that LOVED coffee so much, but because of me, coffee went home.. I'm sorry.
coffee's last day:
i brought him to school because it's easier to go to the vet from there ( but mum asked me to not go to school and bring coffee to the vet. if only i did.. ) in school, he wasn't moving much, didn't even stand right.
took from my friend's blog, HT.
"today, a life was lost at around 1609. it is Jeanette's dear pet guinea pig, coffee. coffee is a v. cute guinea pig which has black smooth hair, and a little mix of other small strands of other color hair. jean's mom discovered that coffee was not being his normal on last Sunday. and till today, it has dragged for 4 days. when we just reached the vet, the doctor took his temperature and found out that it was 40.6DC, instead of the normal temperature-38DC. coffee had high fever. he also had diarrhoea. he had v. little appetite, and was twitching once in a few seconds. coffee also looked like he is having a hard time breathing as he is breathing v. hard. the doctor said that the fever has been delayed and have damaged coffee's brains, and coffee was in a half conscious state(coma). because coffee had v. little appetite, the doctor had to make coffee have some energy. so, a dripper containing sugar solution is dripped into coffee's body. the doctor also gave him some medicine that would bring down his temperature and improve his diarrhoea. he also had many sips of water. we thought that he would be just fine and start playing around in the next few days.
when we finished paying for the medicine, Jeanette noticed that coffee was not moving, or twitching at all. this frightened us a lot. we went into the room again. and the doctor examined coffee again. he announced that coffee could not make it.. at that point of time, jean was already crying. followed by me. i can see that she is v. sad, even though she is smiling forcefully every time i look at her. it is her precious little coffee, which she treats like her own. even when i am not the owner of coffee, and i saw the poor coffee being held on the table and could not stop twitching, with such teary eyes, i would also feel sad. instantly, i could feel the strong bond of jean and coffee. (shut up, I'm crying while typing this already) i was really angry why God took away the innocent coffee's life, even when i prayed more than 3 times to him before coffee passed on. when that was announced, i prayed to God and asked him why. but all i can pray to God is that i hope he could take coffee with him and take care of him.
then, we went to pasir ris on car to bury coffee at A.L.L. when we got down of the car, jean hugged coffee and kissed him, snuggled him, and even called him in a v. precious way. and she even said sorry. i really wanna tell jean that you don't have to feel sorry, because everyone has to leave, and just that coffee's one is earlier.. then, jean took pictures of her coffee. i could sense that she misses him, and can you ever imagine like your children has died? that's how she feels i bet. coffee is her precious. soon, the hole was dug. the way i saw jean carefully put coffee into the hole was super touching. jean placed coffee carefully, and even positioned him into a v. comfortable position. aft which, coffee was buried. me and jean then went home.
a normal life span of a guinea pig is 4 years. and coffee, lived for 2 years plus. this is half of his life. and i believe that God will take care of coffee in heaven, and i hope that coffee can rest in peace. the cute, cheerful coffee, has now become a memory in our lives. i can only hope that jean feels better and don't feel remorseful as its not your fault.. and i hope she will get over the death of coffee and continue to save more pets' life, like she tried to save coffee's. this event made me like animals and wanna help them. i hope that everyone reading this will be able to save animals and help them and of cos, love them to the fullest."
HT: i really want to thank you. thank you for being there, thank you for the tears. thank you for posting such a meaningful post. thank you so much.
words from a conversation between D and Myself:
"i was so scared. because after the 'doc' checked him and put him into the carrier, and we did the payment and everything, before i went home i checked him and he wasn't moving. no breathing so i asked my friend to check for me if i saw wrongly and she confirmed that there wasn't breathing.
so i asked the helper to check for me but she was busy so she asked me to ask the 'doc'. when he was checking i grabbed her hand tight and tears just rowed down
then i really started crying
that's the saddest part of loving an animal. when it's time to let go.
be strong.
there are a lot of "what if" if you want to start thinking. what's more important... is you learn.
ya... learn to care for them. not to forget about them
to always check on them and if something is wrong, ask or bring them to the vet
it makes you treasure prince isn't it?
sometimes we need a wake up call. and unfortunately, the wake up call is often a sad affair. that's probably human nature.
every thing happen for a reason. but whatever the reason is, it must make us a better person.
ya. at least i see prince everyday no matter what. and if something is wrong it's easier to see/notice. what's the reason for coffee dieing? for me to learn to treasure my other pets more?
maybe"
COFFEE I LOVE YOU. ALWAYS. LAST TIME. NOW. NEXT TIME.
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING. MAY GOD TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU. MAY YOU ENJOY YOUR LIFE WITH HIM.
I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU.
